The city of attractions or the city of culture, the place of tradition or modernity, peace or dynamics…
It is difficult to describe in a word a city that contains everything mentioned above. Living through different periods of history, with Illyrians, Romans, Byzantines, Venetians and Austrians, Tivat kept a little bit from everybody. Its cosmopolitan spirit is tucked in between the high mountains that surround it, secret beaches and mysterious islands.

Its geographical position is what provided the city with the possibility to host visitors for various months in a year but also its mild climate, the biggest number of sunny days in a year, terrific sea and exotic Mediterranean vegetation.
Verige
Verige represents the narrowest point of the Boka Kotorska Bay and its name comes from the period of King Lajoš who had entangled the straits with chains (verige) to stop the Venetian galleys from entering the Kotor Bay. Right beneath the seaside road, there is a sandy beach with a small pier.
Opatovo
Between the beaches Lepetane and Seljanovo, lies a 200 meters long sandy beach Opatovo. An old lighthouse in the central part of the site represents its special wonder.
Donja Lastva
The coast of Donja Lastva is made of a series of small sandy beaches combined with very flat rocks, remarkably comfortable for visitors and swimmers who choose this part of the Adriatic for a special kind of pleasure.
Seljanovo
North of the Porto Montenegro port, next to the cape with a lighthouse in its rear end, lies a well set up sandy beach Seljanovo. Its special shape creates the advantage of facing the sea from 3 different sides. Here, the sea and the sand will embrace you like anywhere else.
Belane
In this easily accessible sandy and gravel beach you will find everything you need. You can access it by car, on foot or from the water, as you please.
The Island St. Marko
Some 20 minutes ride by boat, not far away from Tivat, there is a famous island St. Marko. Covered with dense pine and olive forest, this place that used to be overrun by tourists today hides away mysteries and various curiosities. Don’t miss taking a walk on its shores and finding out why the locals call it STRADIOTI.
The Flowers Island
The Flowers Island is only 300 meters long and 200 meters wide. As the name of the place says, the island is a home of lush vegetation, various types of palm trees and, naturally, fragrant flowers.
Kalardovo
People who visited this beach claim that the access and the depth of the sea are ideal for a peaceful and quiet vacation with children. This sandy beach in proximity to the Tivat airport and Flowers Island is a typical family type beach. The fun fact about this beach is that it is rich in therapeutic mud, therefore, young as well as elderly generations often choose to come here.
Movida
One of the most beautiful beaches in Tivat, covered with gravel and set up according to the highest standards, is an excellent choice for all generations. As soon as you step on just a hundred meters long Movida beach, you’ll wish to stay, at least a little bit longer than planned.
Krašići
On the north shore of the Luštica peninsula stand Krašići, a seaside fishermen village with a prominent Mediterranean spirit and small sandy beaches on concrete bases.
Oblatno
Out of the urban area, hidden away on the Luštica peninsula, Oblatno became the favorite spot for all who prefer fun and unforgettable parties which are often organized during spectacular sunsets. Well arranged, sandy-rocky beach with all the necessary beach equipment, surrounded by dense forest and clear blue water, calls you up to come and create moments to remember for eternity.
Pecka Beach – Velja spila
If your aim is to get to know all the Adriatic secrets, then make sure you visit Velja Spila, a hidden, mysterious beach of crystal-clear water and a unique view of the mountain Lovćen. When they ask you “Where do you swim and where do you collect your shells?” (Đe se kupaš, đe školjke skupljaš), think hard whether you will keep this heavenly place for yourself or share it in a whisper with the people you love so they too can explore this Adriatic gem.
Blue Horizons
One of the most famous, and some might say even the most beautiful beach of this part of the Luštica peninsula. This 350 meters long beach, surrounded by pines and olive trees is completely covered with sand and therefore ideal for children and grownups. If you prefer an active vacation, Blue Horizons is the right choice for you. Set up sports courts for basketball, volleyball and tennis are ready for you.
